Transcribathon in Rome!

As part of the Europeana 1914-1918 Centenary Tour and the Digital Innovation Week of the ICCU, the Transcribathon Italia 2018 took place in Rome from Monday 8th October to Friday 12th October 2018. The competition saw 30 students run in 6 teams at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma. The students transcribed and annotated nearly 400,000 characters and 640 documents! Well done, Rome!

A huge congratulations to our overall Top Transcribers, Susanna Ralaimaroavomanana and Marta Teristi, and the following teams:

  • Roma 2 in the category Transcription
  • Roma 6 in the category Presentation
  • Roma 1 in the category Enrichments

With their best run, Susanna and Marta were invited to participate at the Europeana 1914-1918 Centenary Tour Finale Transcribathon in Brussels later this month. Numerous participants from previous Transcribathons from all over Europe will compete against each other.
