From 21 to 24 March 2017, ALL of the assigned Romanian documents with a total of over 1 million characters were transcribed! They include all three volumes of the Nistor diaries, who are planned to be published as printed books in 2017.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a big, hearty thank you to everyone who made this event such an incredible success, particularly our enthusiastic 66 participants! All 23 teams were given 48 hours to transcribe the Romanian documents, and were judged for the transcription quality and quantity. Congratulations to all teams for your great work!
The winning team was Cluj 06 consiting of: Ancuța Zubașcu, Ioana Roxana Orza, Simina-Diana Șuiu și Andreea Pop, who transcribed 128,249 characters within just 48 hours.
What a great achievement! The team won a trip to our next international event the Berlin Transcribathon Campus 2017 in June – keep your eyes peeled for our next announcements!
The winning teams in each city are teams București 06, Brașov 03, Sibiu 04 and Cluj 06.
The best individual transcribers are Daniela Cristea, from the participating librarians and Andreea Pop, from the participating students.
