'The dream/Le rêve.'

1 Item

A British patriotic postcard || The faintly inscribed name of the artist who created the scene on the front of this postcard – A A Nash – can just be seen below the red fabric at the foot of the bed. As the caption, ‘The dream.’ and ‘Le rêve.’, in English and in French, makes clear, the small girl who has fallen asleep clutching a toy sword is dreaming of a cavalry charge, with two French tricolour flags flying proudly overhead; what appears to be a British ensign flag seems to have been draped over the bottom of her bed. The printed information on the reverse states: ‘Inter-Art Co., Red Lion Square, London, W.C. / “TWO-NINE-THREE” Series. No. 300. British Manufacture.’. A message has been written in pencil. It reads, ‘My Dear Phil / Just a line hoping you are well I had a letter from Dubby today Daddy is alright. / With love / from Daddy’. || || A British patriotic postcard || Postcard
