A British comic postcard || The scene depicted on the front of this postcard comprises a girl, with a ribbon in her hair, but otherwise wearing only socks, holding a sign, which reads ‘SUGAR ONE ONLY’. What seems to be a tin bath sits on the mat behind her. A British soldier, smoking a cigarette, appears to be addressing her. The caption below reads, ‘Give me a Kiss, or I’ll pinch your Sugar Card!’. ‘Ludgate’ is written in the bottom left-hand corner. The typeset details on the reverse include ‘No. 1010’ and ‘British Manufacture.’. The postcard has been franked, and the legible parts of the postmark read ‘WEST KIRBY’, ‘650 PM / 29 JLY / 18’.
