The printed details on the back of this photographic postcard showing a boy dressed as a British soldier give the name of the photographer who produced it: ‘J. Bambridge, Photographer, 197, High St., Gateshead.’. Embossed on this photographic postcard is the name of the photographic studio, ‘E C Watling, 33, Jamaica Road, Bermondsey, SE London’. Presumably dressed up in her soldier–father’s trench cap and kit, the small girl wears a leather bandolier, water bottle and what looks like a haversack; the rifle is no doubt a toy prop.
