'A disorderly retirement./Billet de logement!'

1 Item

A British comic postcard || A A Nash is the artist who created the scene on the front of this postcard, which is entitled ‘A disorderly retirement’ in English, and ‘Billet de logement!’ in French. His name can be seen to the right of the pillow on the floor. Nash has depicted a small boy, pyjamas awry, clambering into bed. Clothes and toys are strewn around the room. On the wall is a picture of a soldier, with French and Belgian flags tucked behind the frame. The printed text on the back states, ‘Inter-Art Co., Red Lion Square, London, W. C. / “PATRIOTIC KIDS” Series. No. 949. British Manufacture.’. A message has been handwritten in black ink: ‘Tell Fred his Dad wants to know whether he goes to bed like this / For Fred’. || || Postcard || Front || A British comic postcard
