Silk cushion cover 'Souvenir de France'
A very fragile fine silk cushion cover with appliqued flowers and embroidered stems and leaves. The silk is trimmed with lace. This cushion cover, along with other items, was kept by my grandmother and mother because my grandfather brought it back from his time in the war.

Painted silk - picture of Lille possibly town Hall on fire - trimmed with lace. This silk piece has been kept by my grandmother and my mother as a souvenir of grandfather's time in the war. Fire in a building due to shelling seems a strange thing to record on a souvenir however I understand it was fairly common.
