Medals | two photographs and certificate of discharge for Michael Gleeson
3 Items
These items belonged to my dad, Michael Gleeson. He was a member of the Royal Munster Fusiliers and served in both World Wars. I have a plaque with several medals pinned to it, including some from World War 2. One is a 1914 star which means that he joined up immediately at the outbreak of war. He probably served at the Battle of Mons. He spent time in a prisoner of war camp in France and one of the photographs is from that time. || Medals, two photographs, certificate of discharge || || Prisoners of War || Photographs of Michael Gleeson, including one from his time as a POW || Photograph

Postcards, medals, and Queen Mary box || I brought medals and cards with me today. They were passed on to my mother from my grandmother. I think the postcards are from my grandmother's house. Also included is a Queen Mary Christmas box, sent to all the troops in 1914. Christopher and James Dunne.
