Last letter home

This is the last letter home from Jeremiah, the small things like tobacco and matches are important to him. He is pleased that the people at home are proud of what they are doing. He is hoping that his wife and children are keeping well.

A letter home by Henry Orford

On the top of this image is the envelope containing the letter Henry sent from France to Essex, England. The front of the letter contains a statement which Henry signed stating that the letter contains private and family content. The letter can be seen below. In the letter Henry discusses the weather and thanking the sender for her previous parcel. The letter has little in content and vague in Henry's location as he says he is somewhere in France.
