Paddy Fawl's letter home | January 1916

Back
Letter from my uncle Paddy Fawl to his brother Leonard Fawl written in January 1916. The letter discusses everyday life back in Ireland, for example, Leonard's birthday. I did not find this letter until after my father's death.

Two photographs of Paddy Fawl's grave in Couin British Cemetery. His surname Fawl is misspelt as 'Fall'. I found my uncle's grave by contacting the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. I have since visited the cemetery and laid a wreath on Paddy Fawl's grave.
