Jakob Hecht, geboren 1889 in Mitterteich, gestorben am 17.09.1916, war Lehramtskandidat für Zeichnen und Modellieren. Im Januar 1915 rückte er in Amberg als Offiziersanwärter der Reserve ein und war ab 14.08.1915 an der Westfront (St. Mihiel, Frankreich) stationiert. Er diente als Vizefeldwebel der Reserve im 6. Bayerischen Infanterie-Regiment und war Inhaber des Eisernen Kreuzes 2. Klasse. Zwei Fotos von Hecht - eins davon in Uniform - in einem Buch mit Feldpostbriefen an seinen Onkel Max Rüth aus der Zeit vom 14.08.1915 bis 27.12.1915; Foto des Regiments; Foto vom Grab seines Kameraden Reservist Joh. Schicker, der am 03.05.1915 gefallen war; selbst gezeichnete Postkarte von Jakob Hecht, beschriftet mit: Im Felde 31.3.16. J. Fotos | Militärpass | Soldbuch und Feldpost von Johannes Homann

Johannes Homann wuchs auf einem Bauernhof in Sahrendorf in der Lüneburger Heide auf. Johannes war eines von sieben Kindern, davon waren sechs Söhne. Als junger Erwachsener arbeitete er auf dem Hof seiner Eltern. Am 22. September 1916 trat er seinen Dienst an. Zunächst diente er im Reserveinfanterieregiment 74, später in der 10. Kompanie, 11. Bataillon Infanterie-Ersatztruppe in Beverlo (dt. Beverloo), sowie im Königlich-Preußischen Infanterie-Regiment 186, 3. Kompanie. Er nahm an Kämpfen in Ypern, Verdun und Lothringen teil, wurde dabei auch verwundet. Er erhielt mehrere Auszeichnungen. Nach dem Krieg kehrte er nach Hause zurück. Mit seiner Frau Adele Homann bekam er einen Sohn (*08.12.1927) und arbeitete als Holzfacharbeiter in einem Sägewerk in Hanstedt (Nordheide). Vom Krieg sprach er nie. Die einzigen erhaltenen Briefe aus dem Krieg an seine Mutter stammen vom Februar und Juli 1918. Das Gesangbuch stammt von einem Landsturmmann Benecke, der aus dem Familienzweig von Adele Homann stammt. Eine Feldpostkarte ist an Frau Adele Benecke adressiert, es handelt sich bei ihm um ihren ältesten Bruder Karl Benecke.
