19th Century Run
Relive the 19th century
Starting from 15 December, you will have a chance to take part in our new international competition with prizes and awards. Transcribe, enrich and annotate stories from our 19th Century collection to enter. Documents are ranging from personal diaries and correspondence to official archival material and scientific papers written by composers, writers, scientists, politicians of the 19th century.

Zagreb Run Winners
The results of Zagreb Transcribathon are in!
During five days of competition in Zagreb, over 350000 characters have been transcribed and over 400 items edited. 1st place for most characters transcribed went to Eva Vitković. On the 1st place for enrichments is Marijeta Čubrić. Tena Matićević gets the first place for the best presentation. Congratulations to all winners and big thanks to all participants!

Transcribathon Zagreb
Run to transcribe Croatian historical documents!
In preparation for Transcribathon run in Zagreb, taking place from November 7th to 11th, our platform has been enriched with hundreds of documents from the State Archives in Zagreb. Competitors will have a chance to transcribe documents from the 19th and early 20th centuries and explore the collections of Ivan Ulčnik and Dragutin Hirc.

Transcribathon at IFPH 2022 6th World Conference!
Mini Run Competition
The workshop will introduce the Europeana Transcribathon Citizen Science platform and will demonstrate how to transcribe and enrich historical documents. Participants can then go hands-on into a Mini Run competition and start transcribing handwritten documents in the language of their choice. We will be there to help with challenges in using the transcription tool. Everybody can take part in the mini run!

Stories of the month
Our new multilingual run!
Each month, starting 1 July 2021, we will highlight several stories in various languages, selected around a certain theme, ranging from war diaries, family correspondence to love letters and theater play manuscripts. By transcribing the story of your choice, you are automatically taking part in the Stories of the Month Run!

The winners of Manuscritos no Palco Run announced!
The closed online run event taking place from 31th May to 7th June successfully concluded
We are proud to announce that more than a half of the manuscripts from the 'Manuscritos no Palco' collection were transcribed completely. Overall 1 138 826 characters from 1314 pages were transcribed during this week-long run. Congratulations to the winner João Oliveira and big thanks to all the participants for their contributions! A special thank you to our co-organizers Teatro Nacional D. Maria II and Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal.

A year-long run has come to an end, and we are ready to announce the winner!

Sachsen at Work: Final Stretch
Last chance to make it to the top!
We are nearing the end of a year-long campaign "Sachsen at Work". During the length of the campaign many interesting finds from all over Saxony have been transcribed. Yet the race continues! Don't hesitate to contribute to the rich history of Saxony and secure your place amidst our transcriber champions! The final standings will be published 28th February, 2021!

Trancribathon Sachsen at Work 2021
The online race Sachsen at Work 2021 held in cooperation with Sorbian Institute, Bautzen and SLUB Dresden has come to an end!
Congratulations to our winner Benjamin Spendrin, who managed to run 136 Miles just in 24 hours! Big thanks goes to all participants who transcribed over 110 000 characters of 140 pages and nearly completed all sources from Lusatia, kindly provided by the City Archive in Kamenz and the State Archive in Bautzen.
