Get Ready for Berlin 2017!

We are thrilled to announce that the Europeana Transcribathon Campus Berlin 2017 will be taking place in Berlin from Thursday 22 June 2017 to Friday 23 June 2017! Packed with fun events, such as a Transcribathon party, these fascinating two days of transcription and data enrichment will focus on letters, diaries and newspapers from the projects Europeana 1914-1918 and Europeana Newspapers.

Taking place at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Potsdamer Str. 33), the international event will have two main components:
-Transcribathon competition (German/English): Starting in the afternoon of Thursday 22 June, participants will be grouped into cross-generational teams and have 28 hours to transcribe as much as they can. They will present their results to an international jury the next day.
-Workshops (English): On Friday 23 June, visitors can take part in transcription and data-enrichment workshops. These include workstations for transcription, annotation, geo-tagging, Linked Open Data and Wikimedia/Wikisource. They offer participants the opportunity of diving deeper into transcription and enrichment, and to discuss with experts!

Food, drinks and a great atmosphere will be provided throughout the event! Find out more about the program here and register for free via Eventbrite before 14 June 2017!

Europeana Transcribathon Campus Berlin 2017 is organised by Europeana, Facts & Files and the Berlin State Library, in cooperation with the German Digital Library and Wikimedia.
