Handwritten letter from Henry Kavanagh to his brother Enoch with some pages missing. He has learnt that George had been sent home to recover and wondered if he got home in time for Christmas. He has also learnt from Norman that he is getting used to Army life.

1 letter Article, Dublin Historical Record, 2 March || Frank Brendan O'Carroll was the son of Professor Joseph O'Carroll, a Dublin physician, Governor of the Richmond Hospital and the only consultant physician to the British forces in Ireland. Joseph was offered a knighthood which he refused. CBE sent back after Croke Park and the burning of Cork. Frank joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and was a 2nd lieutenant. He landed in Gallipoli on 6 August, 1915 and was killed on 10 August. There is no known grave. He is commended on a monument in Silva Bay. I have provided a reply to a letter of condolence from a Mr. Kirpatrick.
