‘No Sugar | no Potatoes / no nothing!’

A topical British postcard || An unknown artist has portrayed a crying baby on the front of this postcard. The caption below reads, ‘No Sugar, no Potatoes / no nothing!’. The printed text on the back includes ‘Copyright London’, ‘“CURLY LOCKS” ON SHORT RATIONS’, ‘Raphael Tuck & Sons’ “OILETTE” Postcard No. 3128. / ART PUBLISHERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING & QUEEN’, and ‘Printed in England’. The postcard has been franked ‘Scarborough then in the North Riding of Yorkshire, 9 AUG 17’. A pencilled hand has addressed it to ‘Mrs Brook / 13 Beechwood View / Busby / Leeds then in the West Riding of Yorkshire’. Karojis cara armijā, pastkarte no 1914.gada - vēstule brālim Ernestam uz Pāli, Livland (Limbažu rajons), mājas Vēveri. Sūtīts no dienesta. Vēstules saturs: Sveiki! Es tagad atrodos Kotkā, iekš Finnī, iet vispār labi. Es aizlaidu vēstuli, kad aizbraucu no Lugas. Tagad gaidīšu no Jums atbildi. Tagad atrodos tādā vietā, ka nevar ne ar vienu sazināties. Mana adrese - ...... adrese krieviski\n Sāka dienēt 1914.gadā. Laiviņš piedalījās Latvijas atbrīvošanā, 1919.gadā kopā ar poļiem karoja pret komunistiem Latgalē.
