Recollections of Charles Leach (Solomon Lachinsky; Szloma Zalman Lachinsky)

7 Items

In the transcript attached to this entry, Melvyn Leach recalls his uncle, Charles Leach. Charles was also known as Solomon Lachinsky and Szloma Zalman Lachinsky. He came from Canning Town in East London and opened a shop before the War. He enlisted in June 1918 and served with the Russian labour companies in the First World War. It seems he was a casualty at one time and later received the British War Medal. Contributed via Age Exchange (http://www.age-exchange.org.uk) as part of the Children of the Great War project (http://www.childrenofthegreatwar.org.uk) at a collection day at RAF Hendon, UK.
