Memorabilia of William Higgins | Royal Munster Fusiliers | Michael James Martin Quigley | ASC | and William Quigley | SS Aylevarroo

Victory medal of William Higgins; British War medal of Michael Quigley; Memorial card for William Quigley; Two photocopied newspaper clippings on the S.S. Aylevarroo.
William Higgins was my wife's grandfather. William Higgins was in the Royal Munster Fusiliers, Private No. 768. He served in France. He died in Limerick, Ireland in 1946. My wife got his Victory medal through her aunt. His other medals were given to others. Michael James Martin Quigley was my grandfather. Michael Quigley was in the ASC - Auxiliary Service Corps (Army Service Corps?) as a Corporal, S4/050/660. He fought in France. He may have had breathing problems from gas (?). Three of his sisters married servicemen. He died in Limerick, Ireland in 1929. I found his British War medal at home, it had been lost before this. William Quigley, brother of Michael, was on a Merchant Seanman ship, the S.S. Aylevarroo, which was torpedoed off Cork on 7 October, 1917. Michael was 27 years old and from Limerick.
