Franciszek Alwin urodził się około roku 1890 w Strzyżewie kościelnym niedaleko Gniezna. Był synem Barbary z domu Karbowiak i Józefa Alwin. Służył jako żołnierz w 2 Pułku Grenadierów im. króla Wilhelma Fryderyka IV (1 pułku pomorskim) w garnizonie w Szczecinie. Był to jedyny pułk pruski, który miał podwójną numerację. Franciszek Alwin walczył w Belgii i we Francji. Został przerzucony pod Mławę i Pabianice. Walczył także na Mazurach. Zginął w 1916 w Rumunii. || Zdjęcie - mundur galowy, portret Wilhelma Fryderyka

Autograph album/commonplate book || The autograph album/commonplace book belonged to Rose Hughes, the sister of the contributor's great-grandmother. She worked in service in a large house. The autograph album includes verses, pictures and autographs of many Belgians, apparently refugees or wounded solders.
