The name of the artist who created the scene on the front of this postcard – Reg Maurice – can be seen above the verse at the bottom. Entitled ‘To Dear Daddy with lots of Fondest Love.’, the main part of the postcard depicts a small girl standing on a toy cart in order to post a letter. Inset above is a head-and-shoulders portrait of a British soldier. The verse beneath her reads: ‘Such a lot to do dear daddy, / Play and lessons too. / But I’m leaving all at present / To send my love to you.’.
