Embroidered handkerchief with the message forget me not || Front

A silk handkerchief printed with a picture by Fortunino Mantania who was an italian who worked as a war artist in Britain. I think this handkerchief came into the family collection when a family friend died. Her father had also been in France. The picture it represents is a fine art piece. I understand the painting was printed onto handkerchieves and sold on the streets in London.

An unused cotton handkerchief depicting the 'King's Own' badge in it's original packet (which had been opened). My grandfather joined the regiment in 1916 from the 3rd Cheshire Regiment which he had signed up to in 1915. He was allocated to Class B fitness and originally was certified 'Fit for Home Service'. He went out to France in 1916.
