The information printed on the reverse of this postcard tells us that it was ‘Printed in England. No. 125G’ by ‘J. BEAGLES & CO., LTD., E.C., Printers and Publishers.’. The logo also states ‘BEAGLES’ POST CARDS / BEST IN THE WORLD.’. Depicted on the front is a pair of clasped hands framed by a horseshoe, along with cascades of forget-me-nots. Headed ‘Love and Kisses From Blighty, To Dear Father.’, the verse below reads: ‘In Blighty, o’er the ocean foam / Ever whilst you’re far away, / Loved ones waiting here at Home / Think of you by night & day, / May our Thoughts bring / Strength and Cheer, / Help to ease each care or pain, / Till that Joyous longed-for hour / Of your glad return again.’. ‘Alleyn’ can be discerned below, and ‘COPYRIGHT’, ‘BEAGLES POSTCARDS’.

There are many elements to the front of this postcard. At the top are the flags of Russia, Japan, Belgium, France and Great Britain. Shaking hands can be seen below the flag of Belgium, surrounded by roses and forget-me-nots. Below is a naval scene, with the outline of the British Isles on the left and of France and Germany on the right. Roses and violets frame the verse below. The verse is headed ‘Love and Fond Kisses / to / Dear Dad from Home.’. It reads, ‘We’re sending our thoughts to You, Dear / Over the sea and the foam / To say you are not forgotten / By those you have left at home; / To say we are True and Loving / And longing to see you, Dear, / Still hoping you’re well and Happy, / And wishing that you were near.’. The signature below says ‘Terry’. ‘Beagles’ Postcards’ and ‘Copyright’ appear in the bottom left- and right-hand corners. 'Love to Daddy.'

A mother and daughter have been portrayed reading a letter together in the main scene presented by this postcard. Below them is the head-and-shoulders vignette of a pipe-smoking British soldier. The verse to the right is headed ‘Love to Daddy’, and continues: ‘Dear Daddy, we often wish that you were back once more. To take your loved ones in your arms as you used to do before. We know how good and true and brave you are, and so we wait / Trusting to God above, who is both good and great.’. ‘Love to Daddy’ is the title of the poem printed on the front of this postcard. It reads, ‘I am writing to my Daddy, and I’ve got just lots to say, / Tho’ I don’t know how to put it down in quite the proper way; / But I love him, and I miss him, and I’m proud he’s gone to fight, / And I mean to grow up just like him – that’s what I want to write. –’ Part of its ‘“Patriot” Series’, according to the information printed on the reverse, it was printed in England as ‘No. 1064’ by ‘Bamforth & Co., Ltd., Publishers, Holmfirth (England) and New York’.
