George Bain Anton | Ship-sinker
My grandfather, George Bain Anton, for whom I was named, served in the navy from 1901 to 1922. Before the war, he was a crane driver; during the war, he served mostly on the Pembroke, which was also his last ship. After the war, he moved to Belfast, where he died and is buried. These items were given to me by my grandmother.

George Bain Anton's naval records
His records show that he generally had 'very good conduct', though at times his medals are taken away. Interestingly, it is recorded each time ships are sunk in battle-- and the prize money given for each sunken ship is recorded as well.
