Mein Urgroßvater Paul Kaiser

1 Item

I want to share a picture that shows Leibgardist Peter Kaiser, who was my great-grandfather before he left his small town called Buch near St. Goarshausen to fight at the western front. He was enlisted in the 5th Kompanie of the Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 115 (1. Großherzoglich Hessisches). Wounded, as my grandma recorded, by toxic gas during the battle of the Somme in 1916, Peter died from his war injuries shortly after the war. I just found more information about him by chance in this new database, as he is registered in one of the casualty lists that were made available online: http://des.genealogy.net/search/show/4916854 || Front
