The scene on the front of this postcard is entitled ‘“Goodbye!”’; ‘6. DG.’ appears below that. The artist has depicted a girl embracing a boy dressed as a British soldier. A doll lies on the floor, as does the soldier’s cap. The printed details on the reverse state: ‘A M Davis & Co / Quality cards / London’ and ‘This card is printed in England.’. The postmark says ‘Lincoln / May 25 / 730 PM / 1915’. The postcard has been addressed in black ink to ‘Miss Strouts, / 36 Gordon Road, / Canterbury in Kent’. The message reads, ‘Having a lovely holiday. W. is here as usual; I don’t believe he will ever go. Where are the ‘Booffs?” My kind regards (!) if they are still get-at-able. / I hope you will appreciate the carefully chosen post card. Love from L. W.’.
