Billeting Agreement
This is a hand written billeting agreement for British soldiers, probably of the South Staffs Regiment for 11th to 13th June 1916 at the village of Camblain Chatelain, Pas de Calais, France. It is made out to Victor Chretien but not signed and so may never have been implemented. It was found amongst Frederick's papers. On this date a large number of British units were being moved around and re-billeted in Camblain Chatelain area in preparation for the Somme Offensive. This is recorded in a series of photographs which can be found at the Imperial War Museum website. Any comments or further information are welcome.
