Death of Arthur James Hobbs
Arthur James Hobbs was the grandfather of the contributor. He was killed on the 9th or 10th of June 1917, during the final five minutes of the Battle of Monchy-Le-Preux, by the last shell fired. At the time he had been talking to another soldier, who survived.
