Patrick left Ireland in 1908 and joined the navy - he achieved the long service medal. Returned home, married & quickly had a family of 4 children. He returned to Glasgow to an industry he knew, heavy engineering. He died after an accident with a mobile crane on May 15th 1937 in the District of Hillhead, in the Burgh of Glasgow. His Navy life is very well documented under his service number, I did not find anyting about his personal life while in the Navy at Devonport or later in Glasgow.
