Enlistment Certificate
This is a special certificate of enlistment for Active Service that my grandfather John Joseph (Jack) Duffy was given on 13th Oct 1914 at Dublin Castle on the eve of the World War One.
These were issued by the Central Council for the Organisation of Recruiting in Ireland to new recruits. He was an electrician/telegraph engineer and had just signed on for the Royal Engineers and was one of the first to do so. This document has lived its life in a old suitcase since that time.
A parchment type document about A4 page size to Certify entry onto Active Service issued by the Central Council for the Organisation of Recruiting in Ireland.
