Arisaig & South Morar Record of War Service 1914-1919
During the restoration of the Astley Village Hall in 2000, this richly decorated book was discovered locked in its box. It had been untouched since 1920. It presents a moving and unique tribute to the men of the district who went off to war, often descsribing in their own words their experiences together with accompanying photographs. One of the contributors was my father, Lachlan MacPherson. The book is on display at the Land, Sea and Isles Centre in Arisaig - www.arisaigcentre.co.uk
