Over 50 stories, in 10 languages, have been hand-picked for this year's Christmas Run. Spread the season's joy by transcribing these unique, heartfelt testimonies of Christmases and New Years during WWI.
From 7 November to 9 November 2016, the first international Transcribathon challenge took place at the Latvian National Library in Riga. The event was held during the course of the 2016 Europeana Network Annual General Meeting (AGM). Nine teams from across Europe put their transcribing skills to the test and presented their results to an international jury.
The official launch of Europeana Transcribe website and transcription tool will be held at this year's Europeana Network Association AGM in Riga. Members of the Europeana Network will break off into teams and compete against Latvian teams in the first international Transcribathon.
An Impact Assessment Journey - Europeana 1914-1918 In collaboration with partners Whalebone & Greenstone, a Europeana case study was conducted to assess the social and cultural impact of Europeana 1914-1918.
Berlin historical research institute, Facts & Files, will be holding an historical media workshop on 27 June 2016, at the Primo Levi Gymnasium, Berlin-Weißensee. The event will celebrate the 2016 Day of Social Sciences, as well as launch the new and improved transcription tool and website here at transcribathon.eu
