The August Hahn Company, Chemnitz
This is the story of the August Hahn Furniture Company Chemnitz, between its founding in 1866 and 1945.
The Firma was destroyed during the bombing of Chemnitz on 5 March 1945.
After the destroying, the firma continues on as a small carpenter. The last Hahn retired 1979 at the age 65.

A photograph of my uncle Frank Hanna, seated second from left, in the ship's company of Torpedo Boat Number One (TB1), a small craft that patrolled the East Coast of Britain from Immingham at the outbreak of WW1, before moving to Newhaven to patrol the English Channel. My uncle was in the first class of 100 men from the lower decks who were promoted to officers in a scheme initiated by Winston Churchill, then First Lord of the Admiralty. A contemporary journalist wrote that my uncle was the first officer from the lower decks to be given a command.

His Will written 30 December 1915. His current grave in Ramleh Israel (formerly Egypt). War gratuity for his widow Evelyn Mahon (nee Brady) || My Granduncle Patrick Mahon was one of 13 children born to John Mahon (a Cooper) and Judith Gorman on the 12 December 1879 in Clogh Castlecomer, County Kilkenny Ireland. He enlisted with the British Army in Aldershot Hants UK. He married Evelyn Brady 10th November 1913 in St. Francis Church Naini Tal, Bengal, India. They had a daughter Margaret Julia Mahon born on the 27th August 1914 in St. Mary's Catholic Church Fyzabad Bengal India. He died of his wounds in Palestine 1st January 1918
