Serbian Infantry Officer on advertising card

2 Items

This is one of a series of cards given away by Australian confectionery manufacturer, MacRobertson’s, in 1916. It was part of their ‘Allies of the Empire’ set that could be collected at the time. This one shows a Serbian Infantry Officer in ceremonial uniform. However, this design of uniform, with the French-style kepi, was obsolete by around 1900. Perhaps the artist who created the card was using reference material that was out-of-date.
