Crucifix given to Gordon Garth by a nun
Sergeant Gordon Garth (RAMC) spent some time with the regiment at a convent. When the regiment left a nun, as they had been so kind, took the crucifix from her belt and gave it to him. He had the shield made by a friend and added military badges.

Trench art given to Anthony Lynch
1 Item
This is the back of the matchbox holder given to Anthony Lynch by a soldier after the war. On the back there is a carving of Somme 1916-1917 in the centre of the case. The design is different from the front of the case. The back has a box design instead of curving design on the front. The floral pattern is still visible in the back. Again the design stretches to the edge of the casing. There is no rusting on the back of the casing and the design is greatly visible.
Trench art given to Anthony Lynch
1 Item
This is the front view image of the gold matchbox holder given to Anthony Lynch by an anonymous soldier after he returned from the war. In this image, one can see A. Lynch carved into the centre of the case surrounded by a floral deign with a lateral design on the outside of it. One can see that the design stretches to the edge of the casing. The matchbox holder is in great condition with no damage inflicted onto it and it has been well preserved by the family. The detail of the design is still clearly visible and has not started to fade yet. The item is cleaned regularly by the family.
