This is a postcard showing three of the Black Hand conspirators, namely Misko Jovanovic, Danilo Ilic, and Veljko Cubrilovic. The title reads, in Serbian, ‘TRI JUNAKA - TRI SOKOLA’, which translates into English as ‘Three Heroes - Three Falcons’. The ‘VIDOVDAN 1914’ refers to St.Vitus Day, 28 June of 1914, when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo. Jovanovic, Ilic, and Cubrilovic were executed together on the same day at Sarajevo barracks on 3 February 1915. On the back of the postcard is the Serbian text ‘Ova tri brata nasa osudjeni su po austriji. sudovima na smrt i obeseni u Sarajevu, dne 3. februara 1915 g. radi atentata Franju Ferdinanda’, which translates to English as ‘These three brothers of ours were sentenced by an Austrian court to death and hanged in Sarajevo on 3 February 1915, for the assassination of Franz Ferdinand’. || 'Black Hand' postcard
