This is a fund-raising Serbian silk flag, still attached to its orginal card by a pin. Above the flag is the text: ‘Patriotic Badge. Price One Penny’, with, beneath the flag, ‘Sold by the School Children of the Cannock Urban District Area, To help Serbia’. Obscured by the flag itself, and printed on the card is also the text, ‘Manufactured by Edward Hanson, Pudsey, Leeds’.

A silk handkerchief printed with a picture by Fortunino Mantania who was an italian who worked as a war artist in Britain. I think this handkerchief came into the family collection when a family friend died. Her father had also been in France. The picture it represents is a fine art piece. I understand the painting was printed onto handkerchieves and sold on the streets in London.

Serbian charity postcard || This is a postcard showing a charity event, a Serbian Flag Day to collect money for the cause. Paper flags would be sold on the day and the money used for charitable purposes.
