'Pass | Friend!'

1 Item

A British patriotic and comic postcard || The artist who depicted the scene on the front of this postcard encircled his initials – ‘G.A.S.’ – to the right of the British army officer’s boot. The officer is shown striding down a moonlit road, glancing down at a boy scout standing to attention at the roadside. The caption reads, ‘PASS, FRIEND!’. The printed information on the reverse states, ‘C THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE SERIES. / Published by the Photochrom Co. Ltd., London and Tunbridge Wells’, and ‘PRINTED IN ENGLAND’. Franked in August 1917, the postcard has been addressed in black ink to ‘Charles Brundle / Hill Farm / Tibbenham sic / Long Stratton in Norfolk’. The accompanying message reads, ‘Hockwold Grange. / Aug. 28th 17. / Dear Charles / Sorry to hear you are not well, but hope you will soon be better. Hope you like P.C. Love from all / Your / Edith’. || || Postcard || A British comic and patriotic postcard || Front
