A British soldier's family of four.

1 Item

The name of the photographic studio that the family of four gazing out at us visited in order to be photographed does not appear on this real photographic postcard. Both children wear sturdy boots. Their soldier–father’s cap badge most closely resembles that of the Border Regiment. || || A photograph of a British soldier's family of four. || Photograph

A real photographic postcard || There is nothing on the reverse of this real photographic postcard to tell us who the family of four pictured on the front may have been, or which photographer’s studio they visited in order to pose for their group portrait. Both solemn-looking boys are dressed in white short trousers and tunics. They and their mother gaze at their camera, while their soldier–father stares into the distance. || || Photograph || A photograph of a British soldier and his wife and sons

The printed details on the back of this photographic postcard, which is damaged, at least tell us the name of the photography studio that produced it: ‘“FRED,” 15, New Briggate, Leeds / and 72 ?, Horton Lane, Bradford.’, both Yorkshire cities. There is also a handwritten name and address: ‘D Nunwick ? / 230 Manningham Lane’ Bradford. There are no badges visible on the children’s soldier–father’s uniform to tell us anything about the unit in which he served. || A photograph of a British soldier's family of four. || || 53.795984,-1.7593980000000329 || A photograph of a British family of four. || Photograph
