'A Message of Love Daddy'
The main portion of this postcard shows a woman sitting in a deckchair outside a house, her daughter perched in her lap, with the girl’s doll on the ground beside them. They appear to be reading a letter or looking at a photograph (perhaps of the British soldier whose portrait is inset above). The scene is titled ‘A Message of Love Daddy’, and the verse alongside reads: ‘Sitting at the Cottage door / Thinking of you far away / Our love for you grows more and more / And for your safe return we pray’. The typeset details on the reverse include ‘No. 681’, and ‘H. B. Series. Entire British Production. London, E.C.’.
