Cap worn by Archibald Dickson as a naval cadet. He was only 12 years old when he began his naval education at Edinburgh Academy. Archibald was commissioned as a Midshipman on HMS Queen Mary at the age of 16. Smaller items of military uniform such as this were often kept and handed on to family members, along with the stories they related to.
